lyrics
Came home to shoes by the door
Didn’t know whose but I know they weren’t yours.
Stood in silence, asked myself should I leave?
Can’t wait for the lies, easy as you breathe.
Am I better of alone?
Why don’t you go?
Am I already alone?
Please just go.
Am I better of alone?
Why don’t you go?
Am I already alone?
Shirts and fears scattered on the floor
Thinking you don’t know me anymore.
I’d walk away, but can I take the grief?
Are you still talking or just gnashing your teeth?
Don’t say you want me unless you do.
Don’t say you need me unless it’s true.
Don’t say you want me unless you do.
Don’t say you need me unless it’s true.

Lyrics by Grace Howie
There is something purely authentic and honest about Infant Island's music. These songs are substantial in their impact that go deep under the surface. The sound mix is everywhere (track 3 on headphones?!?!) with some of the slower nuanced moments giving needed space for maximum effect when the violent intensity hits. But on career highlight "Awoken," they leave nothing behind. A must hear song from an increasingly important band. bcb723
This DC shoegaze group work like fog, bringing in ephemeral melodic layers that swirl together to become something surprisingly heavy. Bandcamp New & Notable May 23, 2018
